Week of January 8th-11th

Curriculum News

This newsletter will cover the first week of 2019.  I did want to get a few bits of information out to help everyone prepare for our first full week of school for this brand new year!  Hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and come back well rested and ready for the second half of our school year!  The first half certainly flew by and I am certain that the second half will also go very quickly!

During our Reading/Literacy block we will be taking a closer look at a Magic Tree House adventure titled, Blizzard of the Blue Moon.  This will allow us to work on some writing and comprehension skills as we also enjoy the many joys (and sometimes headaches) of winter.  We will be reviewing 2-digit subtraction for a few days before we move on to working with 3-D shapes.  Please continue to work on memorizing those addition facts as we need to move on with subtraction facts very soon!

There are several other skills and topics to be covered this week, but we will also be getting ready for our Winter benchmark tests which will be coming up soon!
