Curriculum News
As we start to wrap-up our study of the various types of bridges, we will continue with our discussion of “Building Bridges With Unlikely Friends”. Our study of Charlotte’s Web and a few other short stories about unlikely friendships will continue during our Reading and Literacy time. As we quickly approach this holiday season our focus towards the end of the week will definitely be about ways to be more kind and giving to one another. We will look at some other short stories that focus on this and how we can all do a better job of spreading joy and kindness to others all year long! Some of our writing activities will go along with this same topic. It will give us the opportunity to share and discuss some of our most favorite traditions that we enjoy during this festive time of year.
During our Math time, we will be continuing to work on 2-digit addition and subtraction which will include the process of regrouping. This is always a bit challenging at first, but I am certain that this group will catch on to this very important skill with great success! This next week will give us the opportunity to explore our sixth continent- Oceania/Australia. Students will not have a map assignment this week but instead will get the opportunity to take a closer look at some maps of this region together and will get a bit more acquainted with “The Land Down Under”- the country of Australia. Students have been doing very well with their work while covering the seven continents and have learned many fascinating things about each of these amazing places!

*Elementary Christmas Program will be Thursday, December 13th at 6:30 at the high school.
*Students should be in the high school cafeteria no later than 6:15 so that we can snap a few
pictures and get everyone lined up for the program!
