Week of November 5th-9th

Curriculum News

While our time exploring the Wild West has come to an end, we will use our Reading/Literacy Block time to explore another very fascinating subject.  We will be spending several weeks exploring bridges.  Over time, we will even explore the idea of “Building Bridges With Unlikely Friends” as we take a look at stories that encourage new and creative ways to build friendships.  During our first week on this topic, we will be taking a closer look at the 3 main types of bridges and learn about some of the world’s most popular and beautiful bridges!  During our Writing/Grammar time we will be taking a look at verb tense and the correct use of verbs in our own sentences and stories that are written.

As we continue to explore the 7 continents, we will get the opportunity to learn about the  continent of Europe and many of its amazing features.  We will also be learning a bit about the beautiful and fascinating country of Italy.  Our Science time will be spent exploring the Rain Forest Habitat in greater detail.

Reading Logs will be passed out on Monday.  Please encourage your child to get in about 10 minutes of reading each day (60 minutes total per week) and return it signed on the following Monday!
